At your best.

You don't need permission to go above and beyond. This is called being you at your best.

  • Notice that everyone on your team is confused about a new business concept, then research it and put together a presentation to help everyone understand it better.

  • Overhear someone say they're looking to add a new member to their project team, then you send them the name of a valuable contact--or present yourself as the valuable contact.

  • Invite others to join you at a professional development class before you hit the registration button.

  • Get the memo that a colleague will be out of the office for two weeks, then provide them with the information they need to close out tasks before they leave and hit the ground running once they return to the office.

Being your best is when you don't forewarn people that you're about to do something helpful; something that will make their day. Simply doing it is more than enough.
