Careerlog is thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with Summer on the Cuyahoga (SOTC), an intensive economic development and immersion program dedicated to connecting top-tier undergraduate talent with unique professional opportunities in Greater Cleveland. Designed to complement SOTC’s robust framework of paid internships, community living, and civic engagement, this collaboration introduces accessible, on-the-go professional development tailored to help the summer cohort bridge the gap between academic excellence and long-term career success.
Through this initiative, Careerlog will support SOTC’s cohort of student interns, helping them use their immediate summer experiences in corporate, nonprofit, and startup settings as launchpads for their broader professional lives. The partnership delivers high-impact career equity and strategy through two distinct channels:
A Weekly Advice Column: Bringing Careerlog’s core mission of transparent career navigation directly to the interns. Acting as an accessible, on-the-go mentorship hub, this column is designed to help students demystify workplace cultures, decipher corporate and organizational team dynamics, and successfully advocate for their own professional growth. Breaking down complex professional milestones into bite-sized, actionable takeaways equips interns with the tools to maximize their summer roles and build long-term career resilience.
Live Weekly Group Coaching Hours: An interactive, virtual forum focused on the critical art of positioning oneself in the professional world. Moving beyond basic resume checklists, these group sessions teach adult learners and rising professionals how to articulate their unique value effectively and confidently own their professional narratives. Students will learn how to intentionally frame their summer achievements, overcome self-doubt, and structurally position themselves to stand out to top-tier employers as future industry leaders.
By embedding these continuous-growth resources as components to the summer internship experience, Careerlog and Summer on the Cuyahoga are ensuring that students are not only gaining valuable, hands-on work experience but are also fully equipped with the strategic confidence, self-advocacy skills, and network-building tools to design vibrant, upwardly mobile professional futures.
Summer on the Cuyahoga is Northeast Ohio’s premier summer internship program for a select group of regional colleges and universities from Ohio, the East Coast, and the greater Midwest. Home to the Cuyahoga River, Cleveland is the focal point and gathering place each summer for 70-80 students from our eleven partner schools. Their mission is to recruit talented students for unique experiences through paid summer internships that lead to lasting networks in the Greater Cleveland Area.
