DOABLE Module

This week, interns are navigating through the DOABLE module - meaning "within your power". Here are three ways interns are learning to approach tasks, projects, and hands-on experience.

Own Your Responsibilities

To minimize their supervisor’s temptation to micromanage or babysiit them, interns are encouraged to look around their work environment and team projects to identify ways to contribute, propose solutions, and take initiative.

Leave Room to Learn

To get in the habit of welcoming feedback, interns are encouraged to embrace a mindset of continuous learning, actively welcome feedback, and seek help and clarity when needed rather than make assumptions.

Your Way is the Best Way

To demonstrate the respect they have for their unique ways of taking everything in, interns are encouraged to recognize and honor your unique ways of listening, processing information, and focusing.

    • Fight the urge to micromanage or babysit your interns. As they own their responsibilities, provide deadlines then give them time to take on their tasks, contribute, and come to you for further instructions or the next assignment.

    • No one has everything figured out. As your interns work on assignments, proactively let them know you're available to answer questions and help them think through logical ways to approach a task. Be mentally and emotionally ready for them to make mistakes as they learn and work.

    • Everyone takes in information in their own unique way. Admire the ways your interns pay attention during conversations and meetings and while receiving instructions. Encourage them to share in their own words what they understand and provide them with clarity as needed.

  • At the beginning of each week,

    During each week,

    • Answer questions and issues that arise for your intern. Be available to provide a listening ear and help to find solutions.

At the end of each week,

  • Send an email to info@careerlog.co.

  • Where are the sessions held?
Program lessons are digital—no login, no class time.

    • Soft skill challenges are delivered to interns via a weekly SMS/text message sent to your mobile phone. (Save 216-294-0444 in your contacts as “Careerlog”.)

    • Supervisor support strategies are delivered via a weekly email message sent to your inbox. (Save info@careerlog.co in your contacts as "Careerlog".)

This allows participants to complete the program while working.

Do the lessons involve tests or quizzes? How do I successfully complete the program?
Interns receive no tests or quizzes. To receive a certificate of completion, interns must complete a weekly TRACK Record Log entry.

    Are there program materials?
No. There are no program materials to download. A copy of the TRACK Record Log entries will be sent to interns and their supervisors.
